Tryptone is the assortment of peptides formed by the digestion of casein by the protease trypsin. Tryptone is rich in tryptophan. There are no detectable levels of carbohydrates in Tryptone. The enzymatic digest is pasteurized and spray dried prior to formulation in Type 1 laboratory water and sterile filtered (0.22 micron filter).
